Although the Red Heart's t-shirt design from April 77 Records was never meant to promote knife crime, we have decided to pull the t-shirt off our website and will no longer be selling it.
We have done this as a mark of respect for all affected by rescent tragic events in the London area connected to knife crime.
We would sincerely like to apologise to anyone who has taken offence, and thank you for your emails. Our hearts and thoughts go out to all of those affected by this horror.
For everyones information and to clear up any misconceptions, The Red Hearts is a very harmless Indie band based in California who are influenced by the likes of Elvis Costello.
April 77 Records is also a very harmless fashion brand based in Paris and was started up by the love of music and fashion- not by violent crime. Hence the collaboration between April 77 Records and The Red Hearts were born.
The "knife design" was meant as a statement refering to the state of mind one might be in at the end of a love affair.
Say if you have recently been dumped by your girlfriend, you might express yourself as having "a bleeding heart" (for love) or you might "feel like you have been stabbed in the heart".
As we have acted on these complaints very swiftly and issued a public apology, we would appreciate if neither The Red Hearts, Glass Boutique or April 77 Records will be included in any Name & Shame campaign.
Thank you all for stopping by and if any further questions just drop us a mail at
Glass Boutique.
